Rob Zombie And Slayer – It’s Hell On Earth

May 5, 2011

Hey there everyone! JoeMisfit here.  I am happy to finally publish my first, of what I hope to be many, posts to Mr. Frights’ Scary Stuff!

Today I want to talk about a union of two forces, strong as they are on their own, but even deadlier and more grusome in tandom.  Two great hates, that hate great together one might say.  It’s the upcoming North American tour of hardcore metal rockers, Rob Zombie and Slayer, aptly dubbed “Hell On Earth”.  Get ready!

The horror music icon, movie maker and horror collector, Rob Zombie will be heading out with the iconic Slayer this summer which will “..bring hell on earth.” says Slayer’s guitarist Kerry King.  “Total sonic annihilation and a visual bludgeoning.  Bring your own body bag…”  Awesome!

Added Zombie: “Total  destruction on stage and off is what this combination promises. Seriously, how much more Hell could you ask for? The answer is none more Hell.”

Rob Zombie and Slayer will be reunited for the first time in over 10 years, since 1999’s OzzFest and this is an awesome treat for all so be prepared for the amps to be turned up to 11. Both Zombie and Slayer will present their full headline sets at every show, and both bands will close shows over the course of the tour.  Slayer will draw from its entire 30-year catalog for this tour’s setlist, and ever one to play it safe, Zombie will be bringing his legendary stage show out in full force. Audiences can expect an exploding non-stop barrage of sin, sex and Satan guaranteed to rip your face off. This a true rock and roll spectacle at its finest. The co-headline tour will also include San Francisco trashers Exodus, who paved the way for much of our metal music today.  Even Metallica’s own, Kirk Hammett, first started in Exodus years and years ago.

Rob Zombie has announced that Ginger Fish (ex-Marylin Manson) will taking over drum duties, as Joey Jordison will be playing with Slipknot this summer.

Rob, fresh off his Revolver Golden Gods performance with Alice Cooper, will be playing this year’s Rock Am Ring, Download Festival, Hellfest, Sonisphere and more!

Meanwhile, Slayer just stopped at Indio, CA’s Empire Polo Fields on April 23 for “The Big Four” metal fest with Metallica, Megadeth, and Anthrax.  Another date is now just announced for Yankee Stadium in the Bronx on September 14th.

Kicking off in Reading, PA on July 20th (where I have third row seats), the 12-date jaunt is sure to bring hellfire and brimstone on the road this summer!
